You don’t say!
MediaWire blogger Lindsay Beyerstein quotes Ezra Klein of the American Prospect on patient satisfaction between Medicare and private insurance: “Medicare has much higher satisfaction ratings than private insurance.”
Really? People like it better when the government transfers money from taxpayers to pay for their health care rather than having to pay for it themselves? Comedian Will Durst once made a similar observation:
“The administration says the American people want tax cuts. Well, duh. The American people also want drive-through nickel beer night. The American people want to lose weight by eating ice cream. The American people love the Home Shopping Network because it’s commercial-free.”
If anyone is interested, the price tag in unfunded liability for that higher satisfaction rating for Medicare is $85.9 trillion!
